The AEG5012 is a twelve string AEG series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. The version described here is produced in Indonesia although a second model with the same name is produced simultaneously in China and sold in the USA market; these two versions have some slight differences in their specifications.
The AEG5012 features a thinner grand concert shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is laminated spruce with black and white binding on okoume back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a black & white acrylic rosette. It has a satin-finish nyatoh neck with a 25" scale, 20-fret laurel fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a laurel bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics for the AEG5012 consist of an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp with onboard tuner and LCD display powered by a 9V battery and feeding a ¼" stereo output jack.
