The AEG220 is an AEG series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It was produced in China.
The AEG220 features a thinner grand concert shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is solid okoume top with pau ferro binding on okoume back and sides with a low gloss finish. The round soundhole has an abalone and wooden rosette. It has a nyatoh neck with a 25" scale, 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard with special white acrylic diamond position markers. Components include a compensated bone saddle in a ovangkol bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp with onboard tuner and LCD display powered by a 9V battery and feeding a ¼" stereo output jack.
For 2024 the name of the neck profile was changed, but the dimensions remained unchanged.
The AEG200 is a similar model with a solid Sitka spruce top. The AEG62 is a related model with a laminated sapele top.
