- For the earlier model with the same name, see AEF1812E (2005–2008).
The AEF1812E is a 12 string AEF series acoustic-electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2011. It was produced in Indonesia.
The AEF1812E features a feed-back resistant AEF body with a Venetian cutaway constructed of a laminated spruce top with black and white multi-binding on laminated mahogany sides and back with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a wooden rosette with a fire design. It has a mahogany neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include an Ivorex II compensated saddle in a rosewood bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, an Ivorex II nut, and chrome Ibanez Smooth Tuner AS die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of an Ibanez undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez SPT Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2013 the nut and saddle were changed to plastic and the tuners were changed to Ibanez die-cast units.
The AEF18E is a 6 string version. The AEF1512E is a similar model with a simpler sound hole rosette.
The AEF1812E was discontinued in 2013.
