The AEB105E is a five string AEB series acoustic/ electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2018. It is produced in China.
The AEB105E features a jumbo body (which is shares with the AEL series guitars) with a soft Florentine cutaway. The top is laminated spruce with black binding on sapele back and sides. The round soundhole has an abalone rosette. It has a maple neck with a 32" scale, 22-fret purpleheart or treated New Zealand pine fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a compensated plastic saddle in a purpleheart or treated New Zealand pine bridge with black plastic bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" stereo outputs.
For 2019 the purpleheart fretboard and bridge were standardized in all markets. For 2021 the body was enlarged slightly. The name of the Fishman pickup was changed in 2024 from Sonicore to S-Core, but it's still the same unit.
The AEB10E is a four string version.
