The AE800 is an AE series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1991. It was produced in South Korea.
The AE800 features a AE shaped body with a soft venetian cutaway. The top is flamed maple with white and black binding on flamed maple back and sides. The round soundhole has a black and white purfling with a mother of pearl ring rosette. It has a satin-finish nato neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl and abalone block inlays, white binding and black side dots. Components include a rosewood bridge, plastic nut, and chrome covered Die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an active 3-band EQ system with one volume control.
For 1993 the neck material was changed to mahogany and two new finishes were added.
The AE900S is a related model with solid spruce top on rosewood body, gold hardware and mother of pearl soundhole inlays.
