The AE60S is an AE series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1994. It was produced in South Korea.
The AE60S features a AE shaped body with a soft venetian cutaway. The top is solid spruce with white and black binding on ovankole back and sides. The round soundhole has a black and White purfling rosette. It has a satin-finish mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl and abalone block inlays, white binding and black side dots. Components include a rosewood bridge with a compensated saddle, a plastic nut, and gold Die-cast tuning machines with pearloid buttons. Electronics consist of a W1000 piezo pickup with an on-board AEQ-IV (pat. pending) 4-band EQ preamp.
The AE40 is a related model with flamed maple top on nato body and other finishes.
