The AE600 is an AE series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1991. It was produced in Japan.
The AE600 features a AE shaped body with a soft venetian cutaway. The top is cedar with white and black binding on mahogany back and sides. The round soundhole has an intricate purfling rosette. It has a satin-finish nato neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers black binding and white side dots. Components include a rosewood bridge, plastic nut, and chrome covered Die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an active 3-band EQ system with one volume control.
For 1993 the neck material was changed to mahogany and the bridge pins to black with white dots. For 1994 the body material was changed to maple, the soundhole rosette to a black and white purfling and the electronics include an NB100 piezo pickup.
The AE600N is a similar model with gold hardware and nylon strings.
