The AE420N is an AE series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1994. It was produced in South Korea.
The AE420 features a AE shaped body with a soft venetian cutaway. The top is spruce with white and black binding on nato back and sides. The round soundhole has a black and white purfling rosette. It has a satin-finish mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers and a matching headstock. Components include a rosewood bridge with white pins, a black compensated saddle a plastic nut, and Die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of a W1000 piezo pickup with an on-board AEQ-IV (pat. pending) 4-band EQ preamp.
For 1996 the body material was changed to mahogany and the neck material to nato-wood, the piezo pickup was changed to AGA100 and a new (BK) finish was added.
