The AC240E is an Artwood series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2011. It was produced in China.
The AC240E features a grand concert body shape with a solid mahogany top on mahogany back and sides with an open pore finish. The soundhole is round with an abalone rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include a compensated bone saddle in a rosewood bridge with black Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a bone nut, a red tortoise pickguard and chrome Grover die-cast tuning machines with half moon buttons. Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup, Ibanez SST ShapeShifter preamp with onboard tuner, 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2016 the preamp was replaced with the Ibanez AEQ-SP2.
The AC240 is a traditional acoustic version. The AC300E is a similar model with a spruce top.
The AC240E was discontinued in 2017.
