Model 95 is a 5-band graphic equalizer and boost introduced for 1975. It was made in Japan as part of the first series of effects pedals offered by Ibanez. It was also referred to as simply as the Renometer, the No. 95 Equalizer, Model No. 95, or perhaps as the GE-95.
The 95 features five slider controls which can cut or boost individual frequencies by up to 12 dB as well as a pair of toggles to allow one to boost the full signal or boost only the hi-band frequencies. The 95 is a very powerful EQ option for any studio or pedalboard which also works very well in the effects loop of your amp. The manual (see below) includes several recommended settings for guitars with either single-coil or humbucking pickups.
This pedal was developed and produced by Nishin Onpa. An identical version was sold in Japan under Nishin Onpa's Maxon brand. The Maxon name is printed on the unit's circuit board.[1] The sound is described as "clean and loud" and perhaps the best sounding EQ booster in existence.[1]
The GE-500 is a nearly identical successor which appears to differ only in name and exterior graphics.
