The 802 (also referred to as the 802/6 or the 802-6) is an acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was crafted in Japan as a "Professional Special" in the Concord series.
The 802 features a dreadnought body constructed of a selected and seasoned solid spruce top with cream and black multi-binding on laminated fine grained rosewood sides and two-piece back. The round soundhole is surrounded by a black and white waterslide rosette and a black pickguard. The mahogany neck meets the body at the 14th fret and has a Martin-shaped headstock and a 20-fret ebonized rosewood fingerboard with cream binding, pearloid snowflake position markers, and black side dots. Components include a bone saddle in a rosewood bridge with simple pearloid inlays, white bridge pins, a bone nut, and Smooth Tuner machine heads with black nylon housing with silver stars and chrome buttons.
The 801 is a similar model with jacaranda back and sides and dot fretboard inlays. The 803 is a similar model with mahogany back and sides and block fretboard inlays.
