The 698M/12 is a 12-string Concord series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1974. It was produced in Japan.
The 698M/12 features a jumbo body with a fine grained spruce top with black and white multi-binding on selected maple back joined with fine wood marquetry and maple sides with a gloss finish. The round soundhole has a black purfling rosette with a fancy J-200 style pickguard. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with fancy pearloid position markers, white binding and black side dots. Components include a plastic saddle in an adjustable rosewood bridge with fancy pearloid inlays, white bridge pins, a bone nut, and gold plated smooth tuner machines heads.
The 698M is a similar six string model. The 698 and 698/12 are related models with mahogany on back and sides and chrome plated tuning machines.
