1978 Vintage 691-NT
691 Natural Red copyright sprite

The 691 is a Vintage series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was crafted in Japan.

The 691 features a dreadnought body with a selected close-grained spruce top with bookmatched rosewood on back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with pearloid purfling rosette and a black pickguard. The slim mahogany neck has a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dots position markers and a matching headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge, a plastic nut, and chrome plated individual machine heads.

The 691/12 is a similar 12-string model. The 690 is a related model with in grand concert body shape.

The 691 was discontinued after 1978.
