The 678 is a Concord series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1974. It was crafted in Japan.
The 678 features a dreadnought body with a fine grained spruce top on a 3-piece rosewood and maple back and rosewood sides with fancy wooden inlay strips. The round soundhole is trimmed with a black and white wood marquetry rosette and a tortoise shell color pickguard. The rosewood neck has a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, pearloid block position markers with black side dots and a matching headstock bound with white celluloid binding. Components include a plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge with black bridge pins and white dots, a plastic nut, and chrome plated machine heads.
The 677 is related model with selected rosewood back and sides. The 679 is a related model with jacaranda and flamed maple back.
