The 646 (also referred to as the 646/12) is a 12-string York series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1974. It was crafted in Japan and is also part of the Vintage series.
The 646 features a dreadnought body with a fine grained spruce top with aged matched selected indian rosewood on back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with a black and white purfling rosette and a black pickguard. The mahogany neck has a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, pearl dots position markers with black side dots and a matching headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge, a plastic nut, and chrome plated individual machine heads.
The 645 is a similar six-string model. The 644 is a related model with a grand concert body shape.
