The 542R is a Radius series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1992.

The 542R is one of the first Radius models with a more traditional Stratocaster-like approach. It features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and oval position markers plus a "Custom Made" placard at the 21st fret. The pickups are three Ibanez made single coil-sized humbucking pickups resulting in an SSS look, but HHH versatility. In another Strat nod it has a TZ synchronized tremolo.

The 442R is a related model with an alder body and HSS pickup configuration.

The 542R was replaced in late 1992 by the R355GF and R334.
