The 540PHH is a Power series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1989 as part of the Roadstar Pro series.
he 540PHH body has a 'reverse RG style' body shape with a long, pointy lower horn. This shape replaced the older Power series body shape which had been introduced in 1987.
The 540PHH features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and sharktooth position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA humbucking pickups and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge.
The 540PSH is a similar model with a single-coil pickup at the neck. Both of these 22-fret 540P models were offered only in the US market. The 540PⅡ-HH and 540PⅡ-SH are similar models offered in other markets with 24-fret necks and pickguards.
Although these guitars were not signature models, they were strongly associated with Alex Skolnick who is best known for is work with American thrash metal band Testament.
The 540PHH was discontinued after 1990.
