1978 Ibanez Cimar 396-NT

The 396 is a Cimar classical guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1978. It was made in Japan. It was part of the Andalusia series.

The model 396 features a grand concert body shape with cedar top on rosewood back and sides. The soundhole is round and trimmed with intricate wood marquetry inlaid rosette. It has a nato neck, a 18-fret ebonized rosewood fingerboard with a rosewood headstock. Components include a none compensated bone saddle in a polished rosewood bridge, a bone nut, and chromeplated machine heads with pearloid buttons.

The 318 is a similar model. The 319 and 397 are similar models with maple back.

The 396 along with the Cimar classical guitars series were offered by Ibanez only in 1978.
