The 3558P (also referred to as 3558/P) is a Tama acoustics series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1972. It was produced in Hoshino's own Tama Seisakusho in Aichi, Japan.
The 3558P features a dreadnought body with a laminated plywood top with mother of pearl purfling and white binding on laminated jacaranda back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with a rosette of pearl purfling and sports a black pickguard. The hand-shaped mahogany neck meets the body at the 14th fret and has an ebonized rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, mother of pearl hexagon position markers, black side dots and a rosewood headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in an adjustable rosewood bridge, a bone nut, and chrome plated Smooth Tuner machine heads.
The 3558S is a similar model with a solid spruce top.
