The 3553 is a Tama acoustics series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1971. It was made by Tama Seisakusho Co. in Aichi, Japan.
The 3553 features a dreadnought body with solid spruce top bound with abalone binding on rosewood back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with multiple inlaid rings rosette and a black pickguard. The hand-shaped mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot position markers and a rosewood headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in an adjustable rosewood bridge with abalone inlays, a bone nut, and chrome die-cast machine heads.
The 3555 is a similar model missing the mother pf peal inlays and bridge abalone inlays.
