The 2839 features a grand concert body shape with a fine grained spruce top on selected matched mahogany back and sides. The soundhole is round and trimmed with a beautiful wood marquetry rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 19-fret polished rosewood fingerboard with white side dots. Components include a none compensated bone saddle in a polished rosewood bridge with wood marquetry, a bone nut, and chrome plated tuning machines.
For 1976 the top was changed to a close-grained cedar and the back and sides material to fine grained bubinga for the US market.
The 2840 and 2841 are related models with selected matched rosewood on back and sides.
