The 2609B is a Professional series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was produced in Japan. It is also know as the Black Eagle and is part of the Artist Bass series.
The 2609B features a double-cutaway mahogany body with curved horns bolted to a laminated maple neck with a 20-fret maple fingerboard with black fancy intricate position markers and black binding and a graceful shaped headstock with "ƒ" hole, a bone nut. Components include a set of Ibanez Super Bass jazz pickups on the neck and bridge positons, a black pickguard with a mother of pearl eagle inlay, a vintage style bridge with 19mm string, vintage open gear machine heads and chrome hardware.
