The 2608 is a Artist series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was crafted in Japan at the Terada plant.
The 2608 features a dreadnought body with finest selected solid spruce top on selected queen-mahogany back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with a fancy rosette and a black pickguard. The hard mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block position markers, black side dots and a black headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in a fancy rosewood bridge, a bone nut, and chrome plated Smooth tuner machine heads.
The 2609 is a similar model with rosewood back and fancy inlays in the pickguard and bridge.
The 2608 was discontinued after 1978.
