The 2606 is an Artist series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was crafted in Japan.
The 2606 features a dreadnought body with fine grained solid spruce top on selected mahogany back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with beautiful pearl purfling rosette and a tortoise pickguard with a fancy pearl inlay. The hard mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod has a 20-fret polished rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl blocks position markers, black side dots and a black headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in a fancy styled adjustable rosewood bridge with fancy pearl inlays, a bone nut, and chrome plated machine heads.
The 2603 is a similar model with rosewood body, fancy star pearl fingerboard inlays, chrome plated smooth tuner machine heads and natural finish. The 2604 is a related model with maple body, fancy star pearl fingerboard inlays, chrome plated smooth tuner machine heads and natural finish.
The 2606 was discontinued after 1977.
