The 2601 is an Artist series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1974. It was crafted in Japan.
The 2601 features a dreadnought body with fine grained spruce top on selected queen-mahogany back and sides. The round soundhole is trimmed with black and white purfling rosette and a black pickguard. The hard mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod has a 20-fret polished rosewood fingerboard with fancy star pearl position markers, black side dots and a black headstock. Components include a plastic saddle in a fancy styled adjustable rosewood bridge, a bone nut, and chrome plated machine heads.
The 2602 is a similar 12-strings model. The 2603 is a similar model with rosewood body and chrome plated smooth tuner machine heads.
The 2601 was discontinued after 1978.
