The 2469 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1975. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. This unique body shape is known as the Futura.
The 2469 features swoopy, pointy body modeled on the Gibson Moderne design. This may be the first Moderne-style guitar put into production, since it's never been firmly established that Gibson's design from the 1950s was produced. It has a solid ash (or Japanese sen) body mated to a set-in 3-ply maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a Tune-o-matic style fixed bridge, stop tailpiece, a pair Ibanez Super 70 humbucking pickups, top hat style knobs, and Smooth Tuner machine heads. The output jack is mounted on the side of the guitar. Initial versions had headstocks in Gibson's trademark "open book" style while later iterations sported "Guild" shaped headstocks.
This guitar is part of the legendary Korina Trio along with the 2459 "Korina Destroyer" and the 2387CT "Rocket Roll Sr." which were marketed as being made of "African Korina" although no such wood exists.[1]
This 2469 was discontinued in 1977 when Ibanez stopped producing replica or copy guitars.
