The 2461 is a hollow body archtop style electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1975. It was crafted in Japan. It's visually similar to Gibson's “Johnny Smith” model, but is not an exact copy —blocked top wood is used in the construction and not solid, as in the original and the headstock design is different.
The 2461 features a full-hollow body design with spruce top, ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on figured maple back and sides with a single Venetian cutaway mated to a set-in maple neck with 20-fret polished ebony fingerboard, pearl split block position markers, and a black headstock with a fancy inlay and the Ibanez logo. Components include a pair of floating Ibanez Super 70 humbucking pickups, a tortoise pickguard which supports the pickups and contains the controls, an ebony bridge, gold hardware and Smooth Tuner machine heads.
