The 2398 is a Gibson Les Paul style guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1973. It was crafted in Japan by FujiGen.
The 2398 features a maple top on a single cutaway mahogany body (in the style of a Gibson Les Paul) bolted to a C-shaped maple neck with a 22-fret maple fingerboard with black trapezoid position markers. Components include a pair of "Hi-Power" humbucking pickups made by Maxon with a gold cover on the neck pickup and an uncovered black/white "zebra" at the bridge, a Tune-o-matic style fixed bridge with a stop tailpiece, Ibanez "star" tuners, a black pickguard and gold hardware.
The 2398 was discontinued in 1975 as Ibanez began moving away from producing copies of other manufacturer's designs.
The 2393 is a related model with natural mahogany top.
