The 2388B is a solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1972. It was produced in Japan. It's visually similar to Rickenbacker's 4001 model.
The 2388B also know as the 2388B/S features a solid mahogany body with selected birch top and white purfling bolted to a hard laminated maple neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with silver sparkle triangle position markers and a matching headstock. Components include a pair of Hi-power bass pickup's in the neck and bridge positions, a heavy constructed fixed bridge with a tailpiece, a white pickguard with a black plastic tug bar, a plastic nut and chrome plated individual tuning machines.
The 2388B/DX is a Deluxe version with a Set-in neck. The 2389B is a similar model with curly maple body. The 2388 is the guitar version of this model.
