1972 Ibanez 2381-MH
2381 Mahogany Red copyright sprite

The 2381 is a solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1971. It was produced in Japan. It's visually similar to Gibson's Les Paul Recording model.

The 2381 features a single cutaway solid body with contoured top in bright mahogany finish and black and white purfling bolted to a hard laminated maple neck with adjustable truss rod, a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block position markers and an open book headstock. Components include a pair of Clear-Sound pickup's with high-low impedance switch, a 2-point fixed bridge with a chrome plated string dumper, a plastic nut and chrome plated individual machines heads.

For 1975 the name was changed to 2381B.

The 2380 is the guitar version of this model.

The 2381 was discontinued after 1975.
