The 2079 is an Cimar Deluxe solid electric bass guitar model sold by Ibanez in 1983. It was crafted in Japan. It's visually similar to Fender's Jazz Bass model.

The 2079 features a solid ash or laminated mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 20-fret maple fingerboard with black block position markers and a matching headstock. Components include a pair of jazz Hi-power bass pickup's, a black or white pickguard with a black tug bar, a plastic nut, a standard bridge and standard chrome plated individual machines heads.


The 2072P and 2078J are related models.

The 2079 was offered by Ibanez only in 1983.
