The 1917 is a semi-hollow body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1968. It was made in Japan.
The 1917 features a thin double cutaway semi-hollow body design with arched birch top with ƒ holes and selected birch on back and sides build in anti-feedback block bolted to a hard laminated mahogany neck with a 22-fret ebonized rosewood fingerboard with white binding, mother of pearl block position markers and a black headstock. Components include dual Maxom Super 70 chrome plated humbucking pickups with separate polepiece and individual volume and tone controls, a black pickguard, a top loading "Ashtray" bridge with adjustable saddles and chrome plated machine heads.
The 1912 is an almost similar guitar model with a trapezoid tailpiece. The 1915 is a related model with a trapezoid tailpiece and pearloid dot fingerboard inlays.
